Holiday Party Outfit Ideas

Hi Everyone! Since I won't have time to post any What I Wore posts this week. (because it is my finals week) I've decided to create a set for holiday party outfit ideas. With the holiday season well underway I know many of us are trying to decide what to wear. I love this time of year because everything is so "glam."

I put together three different outfits all of which include great colors and trends for the holiday season. Each look features a clutch and a statement piece.

1. The first look is cream collared dress with pearl accents. I decided that because the collar is such a statement there is no need for a statement necklace. I also kept the look soft and feminine by adding a mint colored belt, soft toned arm candy, and a soft shiny peep toe.

2. Look two is bold and sophisticated. This is the look I would most likely wear. The sweetheart neckline and bodice accentuate and add curves. If you have a slender figure like myself these silhouettes are most flattering. I accessorized with a golden plate belt and large statement necklace. I kept the arm candy pretty simple with this look and added a simple black suede pump.

3. The the third look, is glitz and glam. This look is the most "wintery". Once again the peplum silhouette adds and accentuates curves. The color of this dress is also bold without being gaudy. The shoes and accessories in this look add the glitz. The sparkling pumps are my favorite.

Let me know which of these looks are your favorite. Which would you most likely wear?

Until next time_xo

What I Wore: Leopard Smoking Flats

Hi Everyone!

As you know animal print has made a major come back. You can find it just about anywhere. Personally, I first felt a little intimidated by this trend. I've never really been a big fan of animal print and in my own opinion if not done right it can come off a bit gaudy.

The trick is to keep it simple and limit it to one statement piece in your outfit. You can do this by choosing a belt, a scarf, shoes etc. I find that this approach usually makes the outfit appear more classic, than "cheap."

So, for my outfit on this day. I kept it very causal as I was only going to be attending a long day of classes and subjecting my self to hours in the library. My staple piece would be the leopard print smoking flats. I love these shoes because they are absolutely comfy and can be casual or a tad dressy if you like.

Since this outfit was causal I decided to just put on a pair of my favorite denim. To make this outfit a little more chic I paired a black collard chiffon top with a grey cardigan. Then I opted for my chunky gold chain. I love this chain because its still a bit feminine. This will definitely be a "go to" piece for me for a while.

Let me know how you style animal print. More photos can be found on my Instagram: goodelovee

Sneak Peak: New Haul Video

Hey guys! So this will be my very first haul video post coming up soon on my YouTube Channel. Thought I would give a sneak peak and post a few pictures of the new items I bought.

I almost never spend money on accessories. Mainly because I lose earrings and break things so often. I'm clearly very clumsy haha. So I purchased some things from Forever 21 because their accessories are VERY low priced and I won't feel bad when I lose or break them. I also purchased a new Blazer from H&M.

My most exciting purchase were two pair for shoes that I purchased from Bakers. They are going out of business in my area so I got a really good deal on some super cute sneaker wedges.

Look out for my Video Haul which will be up on Youtube in a few days. (I've misplaced my camera cord) lol.  There are also pictures posted on my Instagram: goodelovee

What I Wore: Layering Collars

Hi Everyone! It's been a couple weeks since I posted an outfit. School has been very time consuming as always. But I'm finishing up this semester strong!

Anyways I wanted to share with you guys this outfit I wore right before Thanksgiving. If you don't know collars are trending right now. A great way to incorporate this trend is by layering collars with sweaters. Layering is my all time favorite thing to do for the fall and winter.

For layering collars it is good to play with different textures. You can opt for a chunky sweater and layer it with a cotton collared or silk collard top. For this particular outfit I chose to pair a sleeveless chiffon collars top under a my distressed tan sweater. The difference between the textures creates a nice contrast. Fall and winter is such a great time to play with textures. I kept the rest of the outfit simple with a plain black jegging and black combat boots.

I accessorized by adding a chain collar necklace. This has been one of my favorite accessories this season. I encourage everyone to go out and play with layering and mixing textures. Let me know what you think of this outfit and show me how you choose to layer and incorporate collars in your wardrobe.

Check out my youtube video for more ideas about fall fashion, collars, and layering :)

What I Wore: NEONS in the Fall/Winter

Some may be very skeptical about wearing neon colors at this time of year. The truth is, it is very doable. If your heart desires that you should wear it, go for it! It's all about proportions and how you style the colors. Personally, I love orange and coral neon colors for the fall. These colors are appropriate because they are shades that are still relevant at this time of year. Wearing neons make a bold and fashionable statement.

This particular outfit was actually inspired by Alex of Bronzed Sundaze http://bronzedsundaze.blogspot.com/ (she has a wonderful blog and great sense of style, go check it out!)

I had purchased, this coral neon blouse from H&M and had been contemplating on how I should style it. For the look, I decided to keep it simple and chic. Since the top itself was already such a bold statement, I decided to pair it with a simple pair of black jeggings. These jeggings are super comfy btw. I kept the accessories pretty simple with a gold owl pendant necklace and a pair of leopard print smoking flats. I finished off the look with an edgy faux leather jacket. The jacket added the finishing touch. Overall, this look was chic, sophisticated, and trendy all in one. The perfect way to describe my personal style. Hope you go for it and plunge into Neons this season. The trick is keeping it simple, and sticking to one neon color. Please leave comments, and suggestions below. Let me know how you choose to style Neons. Also, don't forget to check out my Youtube video and channel :)

What I Wore: Polka Dots

It was rather warm today for this time of year. One thing I love about fall is it's the season with the best weather and where we get to see the seasons change the most. Anyways, I had class and work today and as you know I keep my everyday outfits pretty simple. While shopping a couple weeks ago I found this really chic and trendy top at none other than; Wet Seal. It was super cute and only $12. So I could not resist. I decided to pair this top with my burgundy pant. (they happen to be my new favorite pair) I didn't realize I would get so much wear out of these pants at the time of purchase. They are very versatile and I can pair them with almost anything in my closet. The possibilities are endless. I decided to finish off this look with a pair of buckle toe flats from Charlotte Russe. I've had these flats for years, they add a touch of detail to any outfit. My hair and makeup are pretty simple and natural as always. I look forward to styling this top with other pieces in my closet. Stay fab_xo

Trend Watch: Leather Skirts (faux)

This season leather is definitely a major must have. My favorite leather piece is none other than the leather skirt. I shopped high and low for the perfect silhouette for my body type. Particularly, I was in search for the "skater skirt." This silhouette is flattering to most body types because it is slimming at the waist for the more curvy girls, and creates shape for the more "boy shaped" girls. I also like this style because it is flirty and feminine; and easy to incorporate into many different styles of dress.

After trying on a million styles of leather skirts, I settled for this one from Wet Seal which was on clearance for $11. I couldn't resist. Forever 21 had several styles that were pleated but looked a little funny on my waist because I have such a small frame. However, I noticed they have a new style online that I may purchase later.

I came up with four different ways to style this skater skirt.

1. Trendy Chic: For this look I decided to pair the skirt with a very trendy lace top, featuring a peter pan collar. Collars and lace were a perfect way to complete this trendy look. Collars are classic and the lace adds a subtle touch of trendiness to go along with the super trendy lace skirt. I also wanted to keep this outfit flirty and the lace added the perfect touch. The shoes, I decided to pair with this look are simple suede black 3 1/2 inch wedge.

Top: Forever 21
Shoes: JcPenney

2. Sophisticated Chic: This is by far my favorite outfit of all four. Possibly because it exudes my personally style perfectly. This coral/neon top added the perfect touch of flow to balance out with the structure of the skirt. I also wanted to incorporate neon into my fall wardrobe an this top was the perfect way to do so. I chose a mid heeled pump (2 1/2 inches) to keep this look classy and sophisticated. To finish off this look,  I accessorized this look with gold bracelets and the woven belt with gold buckles. This look is definitely something that I would wear to a work environment, or even dinner.

Top: H&M
Belt: Forever 21
Bracelets: Kohl's
Shoes: Unknown

3. Casual: I wanted to keep this look simple by pairing it with a plain ivory long sleeve tee.  Then I  chose to accessorize with trends. I used the giraffe print scarf (my favorite scarf) to add a touch of animal print. The pink belt also adds a pop of color. I chose the lace tights to also add a hint of flirtyness to the look. For shoes I decided to keep it simple and pair the same black suede wedges from outfit 1. I would also opt to wear plain black flats, or a loafer flat to keep this look casual as well.

Top: Forever 21
Scarf: Ann Taylor
Belt: H&M
Tights: Banana Republic
Shoes: JcPenney

4. Rocker Chic: This look is ultimately the most trendy. I chose a plaid red and black top from a few years ago to balance out the solid of the skirt. Plaid has definitely creeped its way back into the trend scene this season. The knee high socks also added a bit of edginess to this look. I then decided to pair these black lace up wedges to complete this look.

Top: Forever 21
Socks: Target
Shoes: Steve Madden

Be sure to check out the lookbook I put together on youtube. Let me know which outfit you like the best!

OOTD: Moccasins & Native Prints

I have always been a fan of native prints and other Native American inspired fashion items. Moccasins are some of the most comfortable shoes I own and they're also super cute. Right now, Native American inspired designs are definitely trending. Fall is the perfect time of year to pull out your moccasins and other fashion items that are inspired by the Native American culture. I own 3 pair of moccasins and I recently just purchased this new pair from JCPenney for only $25. These caught my eye because they were different from the other two pair that I own. My other two pair are just a simple slip on shoe, one with fringe detail, and the other with beading. This new pair that I purchased; has laces, and folds over to reveal a printed fabric on the inside with an array of colors. I love this because I am able to pair it with many outfits being that there are so many colors to choose from.

Today was a lovely fall day. It was somewhat windy so I opted to pair it with this printed, Baroque inspired scarf that was purchased from Target for $14. I also decided to pair this with a plain burgundy long sleeve tee, and my leather jacket. All of which seem to be trendy at the moment. (funny because I don't usually pair so many trends together in one outfit.) This outfit, was super comfy, laid back, and casual. All of which is usually typical for a Saturday for me. I felt especially "fallesque" today as a sipped my Starbucks pumpkin spice latte. I hope everyone enjoys fall fashion as much as I do.  Stayfab_xo

Mix n Match prints: Dots & Stripes

Today was one of the more beautiful fall days. It was between 65-70 degrees today. So I decided to wear this new light weight sweater from Ann Taylor. I paired it with a simple pair of denim jeans from Garage Denim and some bow flats which I purchased from Macy's.

Mixing prints can work well if it is subtle and in the same color family. I like this look and it embodies a lot of my personal style. Simple yet, somewhat chic. This look is very relaxed, as I was attending class and meetings for the majority of the day. Please share your thoughts or comments.

Trend Watch: Oxblood Pants

So I've been looking high and low all season for these "oxblood" or burgundy pants to fit me. I'm very petite so finding pants is like finding a needle in a hay stack for me. (I'm corny, it's okay to laugh) Anyways, I know Garage Denim usually fits me fairly well. So I went in and of course they had the color and size for me (double zero). These retail at $39.97 so about $40. I'm willing to pay almost any price for bottoms to fit me however.

So for this particular OOTD I paired it with a simple oatmeal sweater which was purchased from Banana Republic last winter. This is one of my favorite sweaters because the neckline has beautiful beading details which results in me not having to accessorize much. Plus I wanted to keep this outfit simple for work. For shoes I decided to go with a simple bronze colored flat (Macy's) that went perfectly with the beading detail in the sweater. This was a great, comfortable look somewhat trendy and still classic at the same time. (Perfect definition of my personal style.) I know for sure that I'm going to get a lot of wear out of these pants this season. Look forward to a "how to style" post and video coming soon. :) Stay fabulous_xo

H&M Shopping!!

Today I finally had some time after work to make it to the mall and do a little bit of shopping! My favorite thing to do just about haha. So I basically try on everything before I buy it because it is a bit of a task being petite and finding clothes that fit and flatter as well. Bottoms are mostly the hardest to find and anything high-waisted that fits is extremely rare for me to come across. Most of my things end up being altered if its actually worth it. But for the most part I stick to a small selection of stores where I'm sure most things will fit. However, I ALWAYS try everything on.

H&M always has great trendy and classic pieces and a vast majority of my wardrobe has been purchased from here. The two blazers I did not purchase because they're $50 which I don't feel the quality is worth that for an H&M blazer. I've purchased blazers from here previously for about $30. Today the knitwear was buy one get one, so I did purchase two sweaters, and two cardigans. I also fell in love with the skirt and purchased that without a second thought. A haul video will be posted on my YouTube within the next week. Until next time fashionistas. Stay fab_xo
