What I Wore: Crop Tops & Wide Leg Pants

Hey dolls! A day late with my WIW post. Better late than never.

I wore this look for a friends birthday get together. The pants were purchased from JCPenney a while back and I hadn't had the opportunity to wear them. I kept the top and accessories pretty simple because I didn't want to deviate any attention from the pants. Or cause the look to be too busy. Wide leg and Harem styled pants are definitely making a comeback. Circa 1980's or 1970's. I love these pants because they are definitely a comfortable and stylish choice.

Tell me what you think.

What I Wore: White Denim

Back again with a WIWW post! Hope everyone ended their summer with a great Labor Day.

I spent my weekend attending various cookouts and parties. This was one outfit that I wore for a day party on Sunday. I decided to pull out my white denim and pair it with a soft flowy yellow top. I chose to wear nude heels to keep the look simple and fresh. To complete the look I accessorized with a pair of gold knotted studs, Marc Jacobs watch, and Monogramed necklace. This look was perfect for a Sunday afternoon, simple, fresh and casual. Below are a few looks, tell me what you think.

What I Wore Wednesdays

Hey dolls!  I'm back for the 2nd installment to my new blog series. Wednesday's will be dedicated to "What I Wore" posts.

This Wednesday, my What I Wore features a comfy and relaxed look. The main peice in this look is a soft knitted sweater from LC by Lauren Conrad. The color of this sweater was very flattering for my skintone. And the off-the-shoulder detail added just the right touch of femininity to this look. Light sweaters like this are perfect for the transitioning months between Summer and Fall. I wore this outfit to a family gathering for a cousins birthday. I knew that I would be outside a lot and wanted to wear something that would be transitional from the day time warmth to the cooler night. I love wearing sweaters like this on cool summer nights. I kept the look very simple by pairing it with my favorite pair of dark washed skinny denim pants and a sleek pair of white flip flops. I chose not to accessorize heavily and completed the look with a set of pearl studs. Below are a few pictures of the looks. Tell me what you think? And look out for more WIWW posts coming soon!

Motivational Mondays

Hey dolls!  Welcome to the first installment of my new blog series. I've decided to begin a new blog series of 2-3 post a week. Each day will have a theme or a title relating to the post. I'm thinking Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. This will help me be a little more diligent in posting. I've been super busy with my new job, moving, and other things. I've now been able to wrap my mind around everything thats been going on over the last few months after graduating college. Now that I have my schedule figured out and I'm getting used to things, I am able to devote a gracious amount of time to the blog and youtube. Anyways.....

Today is the first Motivational Monday post!. Every Monday to start off the week,  I will be posting a motivational quote, experience, or story that may or may not be related to fashion. This first installment is none other than a quote. :)

"Elegance is the beauty that never fades." -Audrey Hepburn

Remember ladies, beauty is much more than a pretty face.

What does this quote mean to you?

Maxi lifestyle

Hey dolls!

It's been so long since I've had a chance to do a post. Promise I didn't forget about you guys. I've been really busy, and I'll do an update post coming soon. I wanted to share a recent outfit with you all.

This summer is all about crop tops and maxi skirts. Maxi skirts are so versatile; they make for a great relaxed and chic look. You can pair them with a cute crop top or relaxed/oversized sweater. I love Maxi skirts during this Virginia weather because it can get rather humid. For this particular look I kept it fairly simple with a black maxi and white crop top. As you all know black and white are a staple duo this year. For shoes I just paired a simple pair of black sandals. This is a great look for shopping, or lunch with friends. How do you style your maxi skirts??

For a closer look check out my OOTD on youtube :) Happy Styling.

Trend Watch: Black & White

Black & White is always in style if you ask me. However, this spring it is trending. Black & White is always classic and chic. Knowing what are key pieces and how to accessorize is essential. You cant go wrong with a cute black moto jacket, or black blazer. Why not get even more trendy and go for the "Tuxedo" style blazer with a contrasting black collar. You can accessorize with a hint of color using deep jewel tones like cobalt, or magenta. Either way have fun spring rocking your best in black & white. Check out my youtube video below for some hints on how I styled items from my closet for this spring's chic black and white trend.

Jaded: Color of the Year

Jade greenGreen, Emerald, Mint, Jade! Color of the year is clearly and so obviously green. In many hues, this color looks good on just about anyone, fair skinned, brown skinned, blonde hair, red hair, blue eyes, or brown. Whatever it may be. There is a way that this color can flatter you. This color is flattering to any skin type and/or eye color. In fashion this color is coming in many hues, mostly you'll see mint. Which is a lovely and delicate way to where the color. For evening looks opt for an emerald or deep dress. If you just want a hint of the color choose a bold statement ring, necklace, or bag.

You can even choose to freshen up your current makeup routine with some jaded hues. Check out my youtube page for my latest "Emerald Makeup Tutorial."

What ways are you choosing to wear the color of the year?

Spring into Neons

Neons, Neons, Neons!! Either you love them or you're not so sure how to incorporate them into your wardrobe. The best thing about neons is that you only need to have one piece and you can be on trend. The trick is balance.

This spring season, black and white has become a very chic trend. What better way to balance out a neon peice than by pairing it with black and white. If you're contemplating on how you would like to wear neon colors this season. First go choose something easy to incorporate, like a belt, scarf, or handbag.

You also want to make sure that your neon is either going to be a "top" piece or "bottom." If you're choosing to wear a neon top, chose black bottoms, or white, and vice versa. If you are more trendy, try color blocking with neons. Be careful not to go over board though or you'll risk looking like a pack of highlighters. You can even incorporate neons by simply using nail polish or accessories such as a bracelet or earrings.

Whichever way you choose to wear neons, have fun this spring and brighten up your wardrobes!

Spring Pastels

Spring time is nearing us. It's time to pull out your fun and flowing scarves, skirts, hats, and sunglasses. Spring is one of my favorite seasons, because, much like fall here on the east coast the weather can be slightly warm, and a bit breezy all at the same time. This is a great time of the year to play with textures and layers in your wardrobe.

This Spring, is all about pastels, and neons. I love the soft hues of mints, peaches, and florals. Pleated, skirts, lace, and high-low silhouettes are also trending for the spring. Below are a couple of ways to wear pastels. Don't be afraid to add a light weight moto jacket, or trench. As the spring weather can be a bit unpredictable, it is still okay to wear your booties and scarves as well.

If your style is not super trendy, try only accessorizing with pastel hues. You can do this with mint bangles or peach hued earrings. Or, you may also opt for a pastel colored statement piece, like a handbag, or jacket.

However, you choose to use this trend have fun with it and make it yours!
