Trend Watch: Leather Skirts (faux)

This season leather is definitely a major must have. My favorite leather piece is none other than the leather skirt. I shopped high and low for the perfect silhouette for my body type. Particularly, I was in search for the "skater skirt." This silhouette is flattering to most body types because it is slimming at the waist for the more curvy girls, and creates shape for the more "boy shaped" girls. I also like this style because it is flirty and feminine; and easy to incorporate into many different styles of dress.

After trying on a million styles of leather skirts, I settled for this one from Wet Seal which was on clearance for $11. I couldn't resist. Forever 21 had several styles that were pleated but looked a little funny on my waist because I have such a small frame. However, I noticed they have a new style online that I may purchase later.

I came up with four different ways to style this skater skirt.

1. Trendy Chic: For this look I decided to pair the skirt with a very trendy lace top, featuring a peter pan collar. Collars and lace were a perfect way to complete this trendy look. Collars are classic and the lace adds a subtle touch of trendiness to go along with the super trendy lace skirt. I also wanted to keep this outfit flirty and the lace added the perfect touch. The shoes, I decided to pair with this look are simple suede black 3 1/2 inch wedge.

2. Sophisticated Chic: This is by far my favorite outfit of all four. Possibly because it exudes my personally style perfectly. This coral/neon top added the perfect touch of flow to balance out with the structure of the skirt. I also wanted to incorporate neon into my fall wardrobe an this top was the perfect way to do so. I chose a mid heeled pump (2 1/2 inches) to keep this look classy and sophisticated. To finish off this look,  I accessorized this look with gold bracelets and the woven belt with gold buckles. This look is definitely something that I would wear to a work environment, or even dinner.

Bracelets: Kohl's

3. Casual: I wanted to keep this look simple by pairing it with a plain ivory long sleeve tee.  Then I  chose to accessorize with trends. I used the giraffe print scarf (my favorite scarf) to add a touch of animal print. The pink belt also adds a pop of color. I chose the lace tights to also add a hint of flirtyness to the look. For shoes I decided to keep it simple and pair the same black suede wedges from outfit 1. I would also opt to wear plain black flats, or a loafer flat to keep this look casual as well.

Scarf: Ann Taylor
Belt: H&M
Tights: Banana Republic

4. Rocker Chic: This look is ultimately the most trendy. I chose a plaid red and black top from a few years ago to balance out the solid of the skirt. Plaid has definitely creeped its way back into the trend scene this season. The knee high socks also added a bit of edginess to this look. I then decided to pair these black lace up wedges to complete this look.

OOTD: Moccasins & Native Prints

I have always been a fan of native prints and other Native American inspired fashion items. Moccasins are some of the most comfortable shoes I own and they're also super cute. Right now, Native American inspired designs are definitely trending. Fall is the perfect time of year to pull out your moccasins and other fashion items that are inspired by the Native American culture. I own 3 pair of moccasins and I recently just purchased this new pair from JCPenney for only $25. These caught my eye because they were different from the other two pair that I own. My other two pair are just a simple slip on shoe, one with fringe detail, and the other with beading. This new pair that I purchased; has laces, and folds over to reveal a printed fabric on the inside with an array of colors. I love this because I am able to pair it with many outfits being that there are so many colors to choose from.

Today was a lovely fall day. It was somewhat windy so I opted to pair it with this printed, Baroque inspired scarf that was purchased from Target for $14. I also decided to pair this with a plain burgundy long sleeve tee, and my leather jacket. All of which seem to be trendy at the moment. (funny because I don't usually pair so many trends together in one outfit.) This outfit, was super comfy, laid back, and casual. All of which is usually typical for a Saturday for me. I felt especially "fallesque" today as a sipped my Starbucks pumpkin spice latte. I hope everyone enjoys fall fashion as much as I do.  Stayfab_xo

Mix n Match prints: Dots & Stripes

Today was one of the more beautiful fall days. It was between 65-70 degrees today. So I decided to wear this new light weight sweater from Ann Taylor. I paired it with a simple pair of denim jeans from Garage Denim and some bow flats which I purchased from Macy's.

Mixing prints can work well if it is subtle and in the same color family. I like this look and it embodies a lot of my personal style. Simple yet, somewhat chic. This look is very relaxed, as I was attending class and meetings for the majority of the day. Please share your thoughts or comments.

Trend Watch: Oxblood Pants

So I've been looking high and low all season for these "oxblood" or burgundy pants to fit me. I'm very petite so finding pants is like finding a needle in a hay stack for me. (I'm corny, it's okay to laugh) Anyways, I know Garage Denim usually fits me fairly well. So I went in and of course they had the color and size for me (double zero). These retail at $39.97 so about $40. I'm willing to pay almost any price for bottoms to fit me however.

So for this particular OOTD I paired it with a simple oatmeal sweater which was purchased from Banana Republic last winter. This is one of my favorite sweaters because the neckline has beautiful beading details which results in me not having to accessorize much. Plus I wanted to keep this outfit simple for work. For shoes I decided to go with a simple bronze colored flat (Macy's) that went perfectly with the beading detail in the sweater. This was a great, comfortable look somewhat trendy and still classic at the same time. (Perfect definition of my personal style.) I know for sure that I'm going to get a lot of wear out of these pants this season. Look forward to a "how to style" post and video coming soon. :) Stay fabulous_xo

H&M Shopping!!

Today I finally had some time after work to make it to the mall and do a little bit of shopping! My favorite thing to do just about haha. So I basically try on everything before I buy it because it is a bit of a task being petite and finding clothes that fit and flatter as well. Bottoms are mostly the hardest to find and anything high-waisted that fits is extremely rare for me to come across. Most of my things end up being altered if its actually worth it. But for the most part I stick to a small selection of stores where I'm sure most things will fit. However, I ALWAYS try everything on.

H&M always has great trendy and classic pieces and a vast majority of my wardrobe has been purchased from here. The two blazers I did not purchase because they're $50 which I don't feel the quality is worth that for an H&M blazer. I've purchased blazers from here previously for about $30. Today the knitwear was buy one get one, so I did purchase two sweaters, and two cardigans. I also fell in love with the skirt and purchased that without a second thought. A haul video will be posted on my YouTube within the next week. Until next time fashionistas. Stay fab_xo

What I Wore: Birthday Dinner :)

Today was my 22nd Birthday. I went out with family to celebrate my 22 years of living tonight. :) I must say after you turn 21 everything becomes more surreal; including your birthdays to follow. Age is really a mental thing compared to how you really feel. I always say I will forever be young at heart haha. Even when I'm turning gray.

Anyways, I had a chance to take photos of my outfit after dinner. However, the lighting isn't as great as I'd like it to have been. I decided to wear something elegant, and trendy. So what better to wear then a Cobalt Blue Maxi Skirt and I paired it with a gaping butterfly sleeved black top. I kept the accessories simple with a gold chained belt and gold chain necklace. My shoes are a black lace up wedge. I'll leave a listing of products below the photos. See you all next time. Stay fabulous_xo

Beginning of TheGoodeStyle

Hi everyone! I'm off to a fresh new start. I've decide to start blogging again to go along with my YT posts. This is just a great way for me to give everyone a closer inside look of who I am as a person as well as a fellow beauty blogger. I've decide to begin committing myself to two blog posts a week, maybe more. But while I'm still finishing up this last semester in school I think two is ideal. Well thank you all for joining me on this journey.

:) see you soon
